The 49ers enter Thursday's meeting with a 24-4 overall record. Long Beach State most recently earned a 11-5 home victory over No. 13 Cal State Northridge. Chelsea Parks leads the team in scoring, with 53 goals this season, while Christina Kotsha comes in right behind with 43. In goal, Kelly Ringel owns the majority of playing time, with 208 saves and a 5.31 goals against average. While Long Beach State holds a 7-16 overall record against the Tritons, UCSD has posted recent success when playing the 49ers with a 3-2 winning record under the direction of head coach Brad Kreutzkamp. Their last meeting came in a 9-7 Tritons victory on Feb. 18, 2012 at Long Beach.

Fresno Pacific will play host to the first ever CCAA Invitational Tournament. The two-day tournament will feature three sessions of games. UC San Diego has earned the number one seed, receiving a bye in the first round and automatically advance to the semi-finals on Saturday evening.

The (2) Sonoma State Seawolves and (7) Fresno Pacific Sunbirds will kick off the tournament at 9:00 a.m. followed by (3) Cal State East Bay and (6) Cal State San Bernardino at 10:15 a.m. The final match of the morning session will be at 11:30 a.m. between (4) Cal State Monterey Bay and (5) Azusa Pacific.

UCSD will play the winner if game three, Cal State Monterey Bay and Azusa Pacific at 6:30 p.m. in the final game of Saturday's evening session.

The championship match will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. following the third-place game.

Two home games remain on the Tritons 37 game regular season- hosting Long Beach State Apr. 11 and finish up with Cal State San Bernardino Apr. 19… The 2013 regular season comes to a close Apr. 20 as UCSD faces San Diego State for the battle of the Harper Cup.

The Tritons 2013 squad is posting high marks across the board, not only as a team but individually as well. The team went on an eight game win streak through the month of March, the longest of Head Coach Brad Kreutzkamp’s tenure. Noteworthy wins came at the Aztec Invitational, Mar. 16-18, over No. 13 Cal State Northridge, No. 16 UC Davis and No. 11 Indiana. The team’s success has translated into individual success with record breaking statistics.

After last weekend’s play, Sarah Lizotte broke into the program’s Career Top 10 for goals scored. The junior leads the team with 70 goals this season, totaling in at 207 career goals scored to date.

Melissa Bartow is making moves up the Career list, previously at number seven for penalties drawn, Bartow is now tied for the number one spot at 28. After coming away with three at the Bronco Invite, bringing her season total to 11.

Jolene Guiliana has been steadily moving her way up the Single Season Top 10 list for assists. Guiliana leads the team with 50, now tied at number six with Stephanie Bocian (2008). The current record is in reach, a record set at 60 by Danielle Boyle in 2003.

Courtney Miller continues to post strong numbers week after week in the goal. After coming away with 26 saves over the weekend, Miller has made a jump into the Single Season Top 10 at number six with 262 saves.

The Tritons came away with their third perfect 4-0 weekend of the season at the Bronco Invite Apr. 6-7. In the process, UCSD bumped its WWPA record up to 6-0. The Tritons victories came over Colorado State, Sonoma State, Cal State Monterey Bay and Cal State East Bay. UCSD also had undefeated showings in back-to-back weekends through early March at the Claremont Convergence (Mar. 8-9) and Aztec Invitational (Mar. 16-17).
