Seven Tritons Named ACWPC All-Academic

LA JOLLA, Calif. - The UC San Diego women's water polo team took home seven honors as the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced the recipients of its annual All-Academic awards.

Junior Andie Nishimi was honored at the ACWPC’s Outstanding level for holding a cumulative GPA between 3.71 and 4.00. Nishimi is an attacker and is a cognitive science major at Warren College.

Sophomore Courtney Miller and freshman Lauren Boyer were awarded Superior-level marks for maintaining a GPA between 3.41 and 3.70. Miller is also a cognitive science major at Warren and Boyer has yet to declare a major.

Sophomores Emma Sasson and Laurel Kistler, junior Jolene Guiliana, and senior Leah Gonzales all received Excellent-level marks for recording a cumulative GPA between 3.20 and 3.40. Sasson and Guiliana are both majoring in psychology at Muir, Kistler has yet to declare a major, and Gonzales majored in environmental systems at Marshall.

Nishimi was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District At-Large First Team for the NCAA Division II District 8 in May.
