Keith Okasaki
Assistant Coach
Former UC San Diego standout Keith Okasaki returns for his second season as an assistant coach on the men's golf team after making his coaching debut last season.

During his first season as assistant coach, Okasaki helped coach the Tritons to their first NCAA Central/West Regional berth in five years. The Tritons finished 14th overall out of 20 teams.

Okasaki, who competed with the Tritons from 2007-11, was one of the best players to come through the program since UCSD moved to the NCAA Division II level prior to the 2000-01 campaign. He led the team in events played, average round and rounds under par each of the last three seasons, while also advancing to NCAA postseason play as an individual in his final two years with the program.

Following a tremendous junior season in 2009-10, Okasaki put together a brilliant senior campaign, posting a stroke average of 75.3 over 68 rounds and recording a pair of top-five finishes. He finished third (+10, 223) at the 61st Annual SoCal Intercollegiate in Mission Viejo in March 2011 and claimed a share of 11th place (+1, 217) at the CCAA Championships in Paso Robles the following month.

Okasaki then turned in a stellar performance at the NCAA Central/West Regional in Albuquerque, N.M., finishing tied for fifth place at -2, 214 to punch a ticket to the NCAA Championships for the first time. He would finish tied for 83rd place at nationals, posting a final tally of +21, 237 in Florence, Ala. to bring his collegiate career to a close.

For his career, Okasaki played in a total of 43 events, recording a stroke average of 75.3 over 120 rounds. He carded a total of 30 rounds under par and recorded four top-10 finishes. His lowest round was a 68, coming at the 2011 NCAA Central/West Regional.

Okasaki has also competed in several amateur tournaments, winning the Northern California Golf Association Valley Amateur in 2010.

A native of Sacramento, Calif., Okasaki graduated from UCSD in June 2011 with a degree in Environmental Science.
