LA JOLLA, Calif. – The University of California San Diego women’s rowing team has claimed their highest ranking of the season, coming in at third with 153 points in the latest CRCA/US Rowing Coaches Poll. The poll was released this afternoon.

The top three also includes last year’s NCAA champion Central Oklahoma in first with 200 points, and Florida Tech in second with 161 points. Only eight points separate the Tritons and Panthers.

Ranked fourth in the previous poll, the Tritons swapped spots with Western Washington. Western Washington was one of teams the Tritons faced as they raced at the Central Sprints in their most recent outing, taking on numerous top-ranked crews. The Tritons ultimately finished in second place, behind only host Central Oklahoma.

Now, the Tritons are preparing for their next races at the San Diego Crew Classic. The distinguished regatta will be held on April 6 and 7 at Mission Bay.
