No. 3 Tritons Ready to Battle Top Competition at NCAA Rowing Championships

INDIANAPOLIS The No. 3 University of California San Diego women's rowing team will take part in the NCAA Division II Rowing Championships from May 31-June 2. The event is hosted by Indiana University in conjunction with Indiana Sports Corp and the Indianapolis Rowing Center.


The NCAA Championships are held at Eagle Creek Park, as teams from Division I, II, and III compete in their respective championships.

The Tritons' Varsity 8 will compete against Western Washington and Florida Tech in Heat B on Friday, while the Varsity 4 will race Seattle Pacific and Florida Tech in their Heat B on Friday as well. View the weekend's full schedule here.

UC San Diego will have its sights set on Sunday's grand finals. Last season, the Tritons tied the program's top finish with their second-place finish in the Varsity 8 grand final. UC San Diego crossed the finish line at 6:51.352, behind only Central Oklahoma.

All session passes are $40 for adults and $25 for students and senior citizens, while single session passes are $15 for adults and $10 for students and senior citizens.

Parking is located at the Mary & John Geisse Soccer Complex at 5425 Reed Road. The cost to park is $10 per day or $25 for all three days, and is cash only. There will be shuttles to take fans to the event.

The Tritons previously took part in the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia. UC San Diego's Varsity 8 and Varsity 4 boats captured a pair of runner-up finishes. The Tritons' Varisty 8 crew crossed the finish line in 6:26.568 to finish behind only FIT (6:24.522), while the Varsity 4 recorded a time of 7:13.679 to also trail just FIT (7:10.424).
