Tritons Take Eighth at Head of the Schuylkill

PHILADELPHIA — The University of California San Diego men’s rowing team took eighth place at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta on Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia.

The Tritons finished with a time of 13-minutes, 57.54-seconds in the three-mile, head-style regatta.

The USRowing Training Center placed first at 12:42.38, the University of Pennsylvania came in second at 13:02.13 and St. Joseph’s took third with a time of 13:08.82.

The event is categorized as one of the three “fall classics,” along with the Head of the Charles in Boston and the Head of the Connecticut.

UC San Diego continues its East Coast road trip on Sunday when the Tritons compete in the Princeton Chase in Princeton, N.J., beginning at 6 a.m. PT.
