Three Tritons Named to NABC Honors Court for Academic Success

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Three University of California San Diego men's basketball players have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court for excelling in the classroom. The organization announced its 2016-17 honorees Tuesday.

Adam Klie, Brett Oosdyke, and Michael Shoemaker represent UC San Diego on the awardee list.

Klie recently graduated with a 4.0 GPA as a bioengineering major in UCSD's Revelle College. The Triton guard earned a bevy of academic honors in 2017 including CoSIDA Academic All-America of the Year and California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Oosdyke holds a 3.4 GPA as an International Studies major in Roosevelt College. He was a CCAA Winter All-Academic selection this past season.

Shoemaker has a 3.2 GPA as a Sociology major in Revelle College. The forward was also a CCAA Winter All-Academic honoree this past year.

To be eligible for NABC Honors Court recognition, a student-athlete must be a junior or senior academically with at least a 3.2 grade point average.
