CARSON, Calif. - Chris Hansen scored a game-high 21 points to lead the 14th-ranked University of California San Diego men's basketball team to an 82-52 conference victory at Cal State Dominguez Hills Saturday afternoon.

UC San Diego improved to 13-3 overall and 8-1 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) while Dominguez Hills dropped to 7-5 and 5-2 as its four-game win streak came to an end.

"It was a really good performance from our team today," said UC San Diego head coach Eric Olen. "We responded the way I hoped we would after a disappointing result Thursday."

It was the second largest margin of victory for the Tritons this season. They defeated Cal State San Bernardino by 34 points, 97-63, on Nov. 20 at home.

Hansen added 10 rebounds to register his seventh double-double of the season. From the field, he was 7-for-12 overall and 3-for-5 from three-point land. He hit all four of his free throw attempts. His point total brought him to 981 for his career.

Four other Tritons had at least 10 points including Gabe Hadley (career-high 13), Mikey Howell (12), Jeremy Johnson (career-high 11), and Scott Everman (10). Hadley netted four treys and Howell drained three while dishing out a career-high eight assists. Everman joined the helping hand party with five assists, matching his career-best.

The Tritons held a 46.2 to 32.8 advantage in shooting percentage and out-rebounded the Toros 46-37. They hit 14 three-pointers in the game.

"I thought it was our best defensive effort of the season today," said Olen.

UC San Diego led from start to finish. With 4:41 left in the game, Hadley hit a three-pointer to put the Tritons up by 35 (81-46), their largest lead of the contest.

Cal State Dominguez Hills got 15 points and a game-high 12 rebounds from David Howard.

UC San Diego plays just once next week, traveling to Stanislaus State for a CCAA contest on Jan. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
