SAN RAMON, Calif. – Senior Beth Mounier of the University of California San Diego women’s basketball team has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week, for the week of Feb. 28-Mar. 7. The conference announced its selection Tuesday.
Mounier helped lead UC San Diego to capture the 2016-17 CCAA regular season title outright after UCSD defeated Cal State San Bernardino 66-60 in its regular season finale. It is the program’s fifth CCAA regular season title.
The Woodland Hills product shot 62.5 percent (5-8) overall with a team-high 16 points. She was 4-for-5 (.80) from behind the arc, grabbed eight rebounds and tallied six assists in 38 minutes of play.
Overall, Mounier is averaging a team-high 12.6 points and leads UCSD in three-point percentage (.381), free-throw percentage (.849) and matches team-bests in steals (22) and assists (66).
This is the first weekly honor for Mounier.
It is the fifth weekly award for a Triton this season.
