DEL MAR, Calif. – Natalie Saddic of the No. 2 University of California San Diego women’s soccer team was named a San Diego Sports Association Star of the Month for September. The organization announced its recipients on Tuesday.

Saddic helped the Tritons to an unbeaten 6-0-1 record in their first month of the season. The team captain led the team with seven points (three goals, one assist) and recorded two game-winning goals. Saddic’s first game winner came at Azusa Pacific on Sept. 14, as she scored two goals – including the game winner in the 86th minute – to give UC San Diego a 3-2 victory. Less than a week later, when facing crosstown rival Cal State San Marcos on Sept. 19, Saddic opened the scoring as the Tritons went on to win 2-0.

The Torrey Pines High School alumna has also been key defensively, as the Tritons have recorded shutouts in six of their seven contests. Saddic and her defensive counterparts have held their opponents to just 44 shots throughout the entire season.

Each month, the San Diego Sports Association honors as many as four professional, six amateur and six high school athletes as Stars of the Month for their outstanding athletic accomplishments. This is Saddic’s third career Star of the Month recognition. She previously earned the accolade in November 2017 and October 2018.

Saddic and the Tritons will open the month of October as they host Cal Poly Pomona at 4:30 p.m. on Oct. 4. The match begins a seven-game homestand for UC San Diego.
