Softball Doubleheader at Azusa Pacific Moved to Thursday Due to Incoming Weather
AZUSA, Calif. - Due to anticipated inclement weather on Friday, March 2, the softball doubleheader between the University of California San Diego and Azusa Pacific has been moved up a day to Thursday, March 1, in Azusa.
The first game of the non-conference twin bill is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. at APU's Cougar Softball Complex.
UC San Diego is off to an impressive 13-4 start this season. The Tritons swept a four-game series from conference foe Cal State San Marcos at home this past weekend. Catcher Bobbi Aguirre and pitcher Robyn Wampler, both freshmen, earned California Collegiate Athletic Association Player and Pitcher of the Week accolades for their performances against the Cougars.
Meanwhile, Azusa Pacific is 4-7 on the year.
The Tritons narrowly defeated the Cougars, 11-10, at the Desert Stinger Softball Tournament in early February.
Both of Thursday's games can be followed with live stats.
