Tritons 14th, Hui Tied for 13th Following First Day of Otter Invitational

SEASIDE, Calif. - Freshman Hayden Hui is tied for 13th in an 86-player field as the University of California San Diego men's golf team is 14th of 16 squads following two rounds of play Monday at the Otter Invitational, hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay at Bayonet Golf Course.

UC San Diego, playing in its final tournament of the fall season, shot a 304 and a 307 for a two-round total of 611, 35-over par.

Hui is just one stroke over par with a 145. He fired a 71 in round one and followed with a 74 in the second round on the par-72, 6,848-yard layout.

Also playing for the Tritons are Mateusz Kucz (T-45th, 74-78--152), Adam Navigato (T-66th, 78-78--156), Drew Robbins (76th, 83-77--160) and Joel Wermter (T-83rd, 81-83--164).

Nova Southeastern, ranked fifth nationally, leads the field with a 1-under 575. The only team under par, the Sharks shot 285-290.

Fourth-ranked Lynn is three strokes back in second (578), while the host Otters, ranked 13th in the country, are third (582).

Other ranked teams playing include No. 6 Chico State (12th place) and No. 12 California Baptist (11th place).

Simon Fraser's Chris Crisologo is the individual leader with a 7-under 137. He carded a 69 followed by a 68.

Eight golfers are under par after Monday's action.

Tuesday's third and final round tees off at 8:15 a.m. Bayonet will be playing shorter at 6,705 yards. Fans can follow the action with live scoring.
