AUSTIN, Texas — University of California San Diego men's tennis seniors Justin Zhang and Eric Tseng have each earned Google Cloud CoSIDA Academic All-America Division II At-Large honors, the association announced on Wednesday.

Zhang was named Second Team Academic All-America, while Tseng landed on the Third Team. The duo previously earned CoSIDA Academic All-District 8 At-Large First Team honors on May 24 along with senior swimming and diving standout Trevor Jackson.

The at-large program for CoSIDA Academic All-America includes fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, men and women's water polo, bowling, crew, women's hockey, men's volleyball and wrestling.

It is the third-straight year Zhang has received Academic All-America accolades, also receiving second-team honors as a junior in 2017 and landing on the third team as a sophomore in 2016. A senior with a 3.88 GPA in human biology, Zhang went 9-8 in singles play with all nine victories coming on the No. 2-court. The Irvine native was named the team's Most Inspirational Player and was ranked as high as No. 39 in the nation in singles play.

In addition, Zhang also received Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar of the Year honors in men's tennis by the publication Diverse: Issues in Higher Education.

Tseng made Academic All-America this year for the first time in his illustrious career, holding a 3.88 GPA in cognitive science-human computer interaction. Also a native of Irvine, Tseng was named team MVP as well as academic captain.

The senior posted a 10-7 record in singles action this season on the No. 1-court, and was ranked as high as high as No. 21 in the nation. In addition, Tseng earned three victories over ranked opponents.

Zhang and Tseng partnered together in doubles play, recording a 14-5 overall record with 12 victories coming on the No. 2 court. The duo concluded the season with a victory over Azusa Pacific's No. 2 team of team of Christian Schmid and Tony Pejic in the NCAA Championships.
