Turner, Langiewicz Lead Team USA to Silver Medal at World University Games

NAPLES, Italy — University of California San Diego men's water polo standouts Jack Turner and Kacper Langiewicz led the United States Men's National Team to a silver medal at the 2019 World University Games.

Team USA fell to host Italy in the championship match on Sunday, 6-0, which was its only loss in the seven-game event. It was Team USA's best finish since winning gold in 1993.

Both Turner and Langiewicz came through with standout performances to lift Team USA past Hungary in the semifinals on Saturday, 12-9. Turner was spectacular in the net with 13 saves, while Langiewicz scored Team USA's first two goals of the game.

Langiewicz began the semifinal contest with a slick back-hand shot into the opposite post. The San Marcos, Calif., native finished with 10 goals total in seven World University Game contests.
