Men's Water Polo Prepares for Busy Week

LA JOLLA, Calif. – Men’s Water Polo will hit the road for a busy travel week. The Tritons will play their first Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) conference game Sept. 11 against Concordia Irvine and compete in the Princeton Invite through Sept. 13-14.

UC San Diego hosted the Triton Invitational Sept. 7-8. The Tritons picked up wins over Claremont-Mudds-Scripps and #10 UC Davis but fell to #T-7 Pepperdine and #T-13 UC Irvine. Jack Turner had a strong showing in the net, recording 37 saves, six steals and two assists over the course of four games. Offensively, the team spread the scoring evenly with Skyler Munatones and Connor Turnbow-Lindenstadt leading the pack with five goals each.



The #9 Tritons will face three opponents this week that were ranked in the College Water Polo Association (CWPA) preseason poll: Harvard (Eleventh), Princeton (Twelfth) and Bucknell (Tied-Sixteenth). St. Francis Brooklyn received votes in the initial preseason poll.

The Tritons resume WWPA action and will play at Fresno Pacific University on Friday, Sept. 20 at 5:00 p.m.
