Men's Water Polo Looks to Even the Score Against Loyola Marymount

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The no. 9 UC San Diego men’s water polo will square off against Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) foe No. 11 Loyola Marymount tomorrow afternoon. The Tritons look to avenge a close loss from earlier in the season.

LAST TIME OUT FOR THE TRITONS

The Tritons went a perfect 5-0 last week and increased the win streak to 8-0. Over the course of last weekend, the Tritons beat three ranked opponents: California Baptist (No. 16), Pomona-Pitzer (No. T-18) and Whittier (No. 20) Men’s water polo beat Cal Baptist to remain undefeated in WWPA action.

HISTORY

The Tritons have dominated the series 52-24. Prior to LMU’s 17-16 win on Sept. 25 this season, the Lions had not defeated the Tritons since the 2015 season.

SIZING UP THE LIONS

Loyola Marymount heads into the match-up on a two-game win streak and undefeated in the WWPA with a win over Fresno Pacific. All seven losses have come at the hands of teams ranked in the top-15 in the country.
