LA JOLLA, Calif. – The No. T-9 University of California San Diego men’s water polo team put on a show at Canyonview Aquatic Center and toppled Air Force 14-9. The Tritons improve to 18-5 on the season, 6-0 in the Western Water Polo Association and extend their win streak to 11 games.

Skyler Munatones shined for the Tritons and put up four goals, an assist and two steals. His first three goals came in the first half to put the Tritons up 6-3 at the half.

The Triton’s man-down defense played excellently and held the Falcons to 4-for-11. Air Force was limited to 22 shots during the contest and scored three of their goals on penalty opportunities. Jackson Ranj had one of the best individual efforts with four steals.

UC San Diego got up early and never relinquished their early momentum. After going up 3-1 in the first quarter, the Tritons were able to extend their lead thanks to two power player goals. The Tritons put the game out of reach in the third quarter and outscored Air Force 4-2. The run was highlighted by a slam dunk goal from Calder Hilde-Jones.

The Tritons will have one last road test before conference championship. They will play No. 8 Long Beach State on Wednesday, October 30.
