LA JOLLA, Calif. - Amanda Colla (Carlsbad/San Dieguito Academy) recorded match-highs with 15 kills and 17.5 points to lead the University of California San Diego women's volleyball team to a 3-0 win against conference opponent Stanislaus State Friday evening at RIMAC Arena.

Scores of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) match were 28-26, 25-21, and 25-13. The victory pushed UC San Diego to 8-2 overall and 2-0 in league play, while Stanislaus State remained winless at 0-11 on the year and 0-3 in the CCAA.

Colla was a force on the outside, hitting .371 with the 15 kills and only two errors in 35 attack attempts. The senior collected her team-leading eighth double-double of the season by adding 10 digs and has now accomplished the feat in her last six outings. She also contributed two service aces, an assist, and a block.

Jessica Rieble and Micah Hammond also produced solid numbers for the Tritons. Rieble finished with 11.5 points on nine kills and three blocks (one solo), while Hammond had 10.0 points on nine kills and two block assists. Hammond hit .304 and Rieble swung at .294. Molly Dalziel totaled a career- and match-high 16 digs.

Overall, UCSD hit .226 (41-15-115), while Stan State finished at .110 (34-20-127). The Tritons had 66 digs to the Warriors' 50 and both squads had seven blocks.

Ramey Gardner led the Warriors with eight kills and Kaitlyn Iwamoto had 15 digs.

Tied at 26-26 in the opening set, Colla registered a kill to put the Tritons up and a double block by Dalziel and Hammond ended it. UCSD got out to a 3-0 lead in the second set and never trailed. The score was tied six times, the last coming at 17-17 before the Tritons scored five of the next six points. With UC San Diego up 8-6 in the third set, the Tritons reeled off five unanswered points to take a 13-6 lead. Later leading 17-10, they scored eight of the night's final 11 points to earn the sweep.

UC San Diego concludes a three-match homestand Saturday as it entertains CCAA rival Chico State (7-6, 1-2) at 7 p.m. The Wildcats suffered a four-set loss at Cal State San Marcos Friday night. Saturday's match can be followed with live stats. UC San Diego students are admitted free to all regular season home matches at RIMAC Arena.
