Match at Humboldt State Moved to Friday Night
ARCATA, Calif. - With anticipated power outages in Humboldt County, the University of California San Diego's women's volleyball match at Humboldt State, originally scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 26, will be played Friday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m. inside Lumberjack Arena.
To reduce the risk of wildfires, PG&E is likely to shut down power throughout the county as early as noon on Saturday and the outage may last until Monday, Oct. 28. As a result, the HSU campus is scheduled to officially close at 9 a.m. Saturday.
UC San Diego, which lost in four sets at Sonoma State Thursday night, is 13-7 overall and 7-5 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA). Humboldt State, which fell in five sets to Cal State San Marcos Thursday, is 5-12 on the season and 1-9 in CCAA action.
UC San Diego returns home next week to host cross-county rival Cal State San Marcos on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. All home matches are broadcast live by ESPN3.
