Tritons Go Undefeated at Team Invitational

LA JOLLA, Calif. - The University of California San Diego men’s and women’s fencing teams went undefeated as host of Saturday's Team Invitational at Main Gym on campus.

The Triton men finished 26-1 over club-team UC Irvine, 27-0 over club-team Arizona State, and 24-3 over fellow NCAA competitor Caltech.

The women followed suit by going 26-1 against UC Irvine, 27-0 over Arizona State, and 27-0 over Caltech.

Next up for UC San Diego is the NCAA West Regional, hosted by the Tritons at RIMAC Arena on Sunday, March 10. Also competing will be Air Force, Caltech, Incarnate Word, and Stanford.

The West Regional will serve as a qualifier to the NCAA Championships, hosted by Cleveland State University from March 21 to March 24. Last year, UC San Diego qualified five fencers for nationals, the team's most since 2008.
