Women's Swim and Dive Fare Well in Day One at Davis
DAVIS, Calif. – The Tritons finished racing the first day of their quad meet, racing against UC Davis, Pepperdine and Cal State East Bay. Through the first 13 events, the Tritons had the top finisher in six of them.
The Tritons opened things up with a win in the 400-yard medley relay. The team of Jordan Phillips, Katja Pavicevic, Brittney Miles and Cody Hargadon finished with a time of 348.23, over four seconds faster than UC Davis.
UC San Diego swept the podium in the 50-yard freestyle with Miles, Grace Murphy and Hargadon finishing first through third. Hargadon and Miles would shine against in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing first and second. The Tritons continued their domination of the freestyle by taking four of the top five places in the 500-yard freestyle. Julissa Arzave emerged as the top Triton with a time of 4:59.91.
Jasmyn Cheng was the top diver and finished sixth in the 1-meter with a score of 236.90 and sixth in the 3-meter with a score of 227.45.
The Tritons will resume the meet tomorrow at 9 am.
