AS A JUNIOR IN 2007: Started in 12 of UCSD’s contests while ranking third on the team in points with five, scoring two goals and notching one assist... both of his goals proved to be game winners against Cal State San Bernardino, the first coming in a road match two minutes into overtime and the second taking place in the 89th minute of the season finale in a 2-1 home win.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2006: Appeared in all 19 matches, getting the starting nod on 14 occasions... ranked fourth on the team in scoring with four points... netted two goals on the year, the first of which came in the 3-1 victory at Cal State Stanislaus on Sept. 15... scored the team’s only goal in the 2-1 loss at home to Sonoma State on Sept. 29... took 16 shots on the season, six of which were on goal.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2005: Appeared in all 18 contests for the Tritons, starting five during his rookie campaign... scored two goals and assisted on three others... got first collegiate start in the 4-0 season-opening victory over Humboldt State on Aug. 26... notched first collegiate point with an assist on the game-winning goal in the 2-0 victory over Cal Poly Pomona on Sept. 24... posted first collegiate goal at Cal State Bakersfield on Oct. 12... scored the only goal of the match in the 1-0 win at Chico State on Oct. 14.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2005 graduate of Mission Viejo High School... was a team captain and voted Diablo of the Year by his teammates... also earned first team all-league honors.
PERSONAL: Born Dec. 8, 1986... parents are Bill and Donna Caplan, both of whom attended UCLA... enjoys intramural sports, poker and computer games in his spare time... is an Economics major at Warren College... aspires to be a real estate developer... has three sisters: Barbara, Diane and Susie.
