STILING NAMED ATHLETE OF THE WEEK, TIMES TWO
After nearly a month away from competition, Josh Stiling returned this past week in a big way, totaling nine goals over two WWPA victories, earning UCSD Athlete of the Week honors Oct. 29. The accolades continued to roll in on Wednesday as Stiling was named the WWPA KAP7 Player of the Week.

In a 16-5 win over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at Canyonview Pool, the junior driver scored three goals and added a field block. The next day against Pomona-Pitzer, Stiling found the net six times in UCSD's 12-3 rout. He also had three steals and a field block. This week marks the second time this season Stiling has been honored as athlete of the week, as the Tritons took back-to-back honors with Cameron Ravanbach receiving the award on Oct. 24

AROUND THE WWPA
The Tritons have won their last five consecutive WWPA matches, bringing their league-leading record to 10-2 heading into the final week of conference play. Air Force currently sits in second with a 7-3 record. The Falcons will face a tough battle this weekend, playing Loyola Marymount on Saturday.

SCOUTING UC DAVIS
The Aggies currently hold a 12-14 overall record and are 10-4 in the WWPA. UC Davis most recently dropped a 9-8 decision to Loyola Marymount in Davis. The Aggies' fourth-quarter rally came close to defeating the Lions but it wasn't enough as LMU scored a last-second goal to take a 9-8 decision.

WHEN WE LAST MET THE AGGIES
The two teams last met in the final match of the Norcal Tournament on Sept. 16. The Tritons broke out offensively in both the first and third quarters, scoring four goals in each. UCSD took a 6-1 lead from half and nearly doubled it by the end of the match. Both David Higginson and Josh Stiling finished the match with three goals. Luke Syka added two with Joe Dietrich, Tommy Friedrich, and Matt Michalko chipping in one apiece.

SCOUTING SANTA CLARA
After going 2-1 in its home tournament, the Rodeo, the Broncos dropped a 12-7 decision to Loyola Marymount at home, bringing their overall record to 9-14 overall, 6-7 in conference. Santa Clara's offense is led by Tucker Carlson with 37 goals on the year. In the cage, John Nash leads SCU with 108 saves.

WHEN WE LAST MET THE BRONCOS
This Saturday's game will mark the first time the Tritons play the Broncos this season. The teams last met up at WWPA's in UCSD's second game of the tournament. The Tritons defeated the Broncos 10-2. The last regular season game was exactly one year ago. UCSD hosted the Broncos, earning a 14-7 victory.

SENIOR DAY
UCSD's game against UC Irvine, on Thursday, Nov. 8 will mark the final regular-season home match for five Triton seniors. A ceremony will take place at the pool prior to the game to recognize the accomplishments of Chris Barton, Lance Curtiss, Brian Donohoe, Brian Roach, and John Butler.

WWPA CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2012 WWPA Men's Championship will be hosted Nov. 16-18, 2012 at the newly-opened Slade Aquatic Center on the campus of Whittier.
