LA JOLLA, Calif. - For just the second time this season, the UC San Diego women's volleyball team lost at home, suffering a 3-0 setback against San Francisco State Friday night at RIMAC Arena.

Scores of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) match were 25-20, 25-18 and 25-17. UCSD fell to 19-8 overall and 14-5 in the league. SFSU improved to 19-7 on the season and upped its CCAA mark to 14-5, tied with UCSD for second place.

UCSD managed just a .153 attack with 36 kills and 17 errors in 124 attempts. Conversely, SFSU swung at .291 with 46 kills and 12 errors in 117 attacks.

Sophie Rowe had nine kills and Danielle Dahle added eight for the Tritons. Brittany Lombardi amassed a match-high 24 digs.

For San Francisco State, Meagan Wright led all players with 14 kills while Kelly Ostello had 10. Megan Johnson led the team on the defensive end with 18 digs.

The win gave the Gators the season series as they downed the Tritons in straight sets on Oct. 6 in San Francisco.

UCSD's only other loss at home came on Sept. 14, a 3-0 setback against Cal State Dominguez Hills.

The Tritons look to rebound Saturday night as they host Sonoma State in their final regular season home match at 7 p.m. The Seawolves, who fell to CCAA-leading Cal State San Bernardino Friday, are just behind UCSD in the league standings, sitting in fourth place with a 13-6 record. The Tritons defeated SSU in five sets on Oct. 5 in Rohnert Park.
