UC San Diego has claimed the top-seed thanks to hot a finish to the regular season, winning its last five straight and seven of eight. The Tritons enter the tournament at 14-7 overall and 12-2 against WWPA foes. During their end of the season winning streak, UCSD defeated six of the seven remaining teams in the field. Included in that was a win over No. 2 seed Loyola Marymount, evening their season series at two games apiece, with the goal difference after the four games coming down to just two.
A LITTLE HISTORY
UCSD brought LMU's Championship run to an end last year winning the programs first title since 2006. LMU and UCSD are the only two teams to take home the conference crown this millennium. The Lions had won four consecutively through 2010. UCSD earned their 15th conference title in a 8-7 win over UC Davis at Canyonview Pool.
Sending the seniors off on a high note, UCSD made a comeback to defeat UC Irvine 12-11 at Canyonview Pool in the Tritons final home game of the season on Nov. 8. Brian Donohoe scored the game-winner with under a minute to play in regulation. The Tritons came out with an impressive 3-0 lead to start the first quarter, UCI inched their way back posting four unanswered goals from the middle of the first quarter through the middle of the second. John Butler ended the run, but the Anteaters would go on another four goal streak until Josh Stiling scored late in the third quarter to put the score at 9-6. After Donohoes goal at the 30 second mark, UCSD goalie Cameron Ravanbach came up with two big final second saves to keep the Anteaters from sending the game to extra minutes.
Senior John Butler has been the team leader in assists during the regular season, compiling 42 respectively. Butler recorded three in last week's victory over No. 9 UC Irvine, bringing him to 127 career assists and to the No. 2 spot on the programs Top 10 list slipping right past Jon Hopkins, a 2005-06 graduate with 125 assists.
OTHER TOP SEEDS
No 2 Loyola Marymount: The Lions are 15-9 on the season and 10-2 in the WWPA. Like the Tritons, the Lions defeated the rest of the field on the season.

No. 4 UC Davis: A rematch of last Saturday, the Aggies will take on No. 5 Santa Clara. In their meeting on Nov. 11, UC Davis earned a 13-11 win to enter the tournament at 13-16 overall and 11-5 in the WWPA. Santa Clara is 9-18 on the season and 6-9 in conference.
