RIVERSIDE, Calif. – UC San Diego shutout Syracuse, 6-0, on Sunday morning in their final game of the Lance Up Invite. The Tritons went 2-1 at the invitational.

The gold and blue moves to 9-14 and Syracuse moves to 7-11.

Tossing her fourth complete game of the season,
Jada Cecil allowed no runs on four hits with one walk and seven strikeouts. The righty forced 12 flyouts and two groundouts.

At the plate,
Georgia Heathcock went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, a run batted in, and a walk.
Sophia Real added her support going 2-for-2 with an RBI as well.
Keila Bosinger,
Teagan Dobson, and
Bobbi Aguirre each contributed a hit.
Morgan Eng and
Hailey Mulligan each recorded an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Getting on the board in the bottom of the second, the Tritons were led by
Teagan Dobson. Dobson powered a single to left field on the first pitch of her at-bat.
Georgia Heathcock laced a single up the middle on a full count to reach and advance Dobson to third.
Sophia Real was hit by pitch to advance Heathcock and load the bases. A fielder's choice was the second out of the inning, but
Hailey Mulligan was patient at the plate and was walked by 'Cuse to drive in Heathcock and put the Tritons up 1-0.

In the third,
Bobbi Aguirre went around the bases paths to come home after she had a lead off double.
Clarissa Reynoso's sac bunt advanced Aguirre to third. On a sac fly from Dobson, Aguirre was able to score, putting UC San Diego up 2-0.

Hanging two more runs on the board in the fourth, Heathcock walked to become the lead runner before
Kelley Renner came on as a pinch runner. A single through the right side from Real allowed Renner to advance to third.
Reilly Erickson came on to pinch run for Real and advanced to second on a ground out. On a fielder's choice, the play went to second, allowing Renner to score and Eng to reach. She proceeded to steal second. Another fielder's choice allowed Aguirre to reach and bring in Erickson to make the score 4-0.

The final two Triton runs came in the fifth. On a two out rally, Bosinger laced a single up the middle to become the lead runner. Heathcock then doubled down the left field line to bring in Bosinger. Heathcock then scored on a single from Real reaching the final score of 6-0.
