BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Wrapping up the three-game series at CSU Bakersfield on Friday afternoon, the Tritons fell in five innings to the 'Runners, 10-2.

The Tritons move to 12-15 overall and 2-1 in Big West play. CSU Bakersfield move to 6-20 and 1-2 in the Big West.

Getting the start for the Tritons was
Shelby Thompson, who allowed five unearned runs on four hits with one walk and one strikeout. The lefty forced one groundout and three fly outs. Coming in as relief,
Kaia Simpson allowed five runs on six hits with two walks.

At the plate,
Deena Pederson was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Adding her support was
Sophia Real who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Keila Bosinger was walked three times and scored a run.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons got on the board in the first inning with a single run.
Keila Bosinger was walked on two outs and then stole second.
Sophia Real then laced a single through the right side to bring Bosinger home.

In the bottom of the second, the 'Runners went on a spree with five runs. They added four more on the board in the third and fourth inning to lead 9-1 headed into the fifth.

In the top of the fifth the Tritons attempted to rally. Facing two outs,
Bobbi Aguirre sent a single up the middle to reach.
Reilly Erickson came on as pinch runner for Aguirre. Bosinger was walked for a third time advancing Erickson to second. Real was then walked to load the bases.
Deena Pederson laced a single up the middle to plate Erickson.

The Tritons rally was cut short as the final out came. CSU Bakersfield hung another run on the board to end the game early in the bottom of the fifth inning.
