LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego women's volleyball will return to La Jolla for a pair of matches in LionTree Arena, playing host to UC Riverside on Friday and UC Davis on Saturday.

The Tritons (10-8, 2-4 Big West) will take on the Highlanders (4-14, 3-3 Big West) on Friday at 7 p.m. UC San Diego will host the Aggies (9-7, 4-2 Big West) on Saturday at 7 p.m. for their annual Pink Match for Breast Cancer Awareness month. The first 250 fans will receive a free pink UC San Diego hat.Â

KNOWLES NAMED UCU ATHLETE OF THE WEEK (OCT. 9)
Nevada Knowles was named UCU Athlete of the Week after setting UC San Diego's Division I single match record for service aces, collecting seven in a 3-0 sweep at CSUN. She followed it up the next day with four more aces in a 3-1 victory at Cal State Bakersfield, totaling 11 for the weekend (1.57 per set). The junior setter collected 48 assists (6.86 per set) and directed the Tritons' offense to .262 team hitting percentage in a 2-0 weekend. Additionally, she finished second on the team with 17 total digs (2.43 per set). Knowles finished one dig shy of a double-double against the Matadors with 26 assists and nine digs, and collected 22 assists and eight digs the next day against the Roadrunners.

McINNES CHASING RECORDS
Junior outside hitter
Ava McInnes had a standout season in 2022, leading The Big West in both kills (3.81 k/s) and points (4.35 p/s). McInnes set the Tritons' Division I season record for kills with 469, which also ranks second in the all-time record book. She also set the all-time season record for attacks with 1,374 and tied the all-time single match kills record with 31 against Long Beach State (Oct. 14, 2022).

In her third season of competition, McInnes has 1,045 career kills and 3,069 attack attempts. She recorded her career 1,000th career kill on Sept. 23 against Cal Poly and her 3,000th attack attempt on Oct. 6 at CSUN. In Friday's match against CSUN, McInnes moved into eighth all-time in career kills and four kills away from seventh. She ranks fifth all-time in attack attempts and is 135 away from fourth all-time (3,204).

STACKING UP AGAINST THE BIG WEST
After six weeks of competition in the books, UC San Diego currently ranks seventh. The Tritons rank second in team blocks (2.44 per set) and second in service aces (1.72 per set).
- Ava McInnes ranks first in kills (3.74 per set), second in points (4.52 per set) and fourth in aces (0.38 per set).
- Emily McDaniel ranks first in blocks (1.40 per set).
- Nevada Knowles ranks sixth in assists (6.67 per set) and tenth in aces (0.32 per set).
- Jasmine Saran ranks sixth in hitting percentage (.295) and 12th in blocks (0.96 per set).
- Natalie Repetti ranks ninth in digs (3.46 per set).
About UC San Diego Athletics
After two decades as one of the most successful programs in NCAA Division II, the UC San Diego intercollegiate athletics program began a new era in 2020 as a member of The Big West in NCAA Division I.
