Julia Macabuhay is coming off her top performance of the season in UC San Diego's win over Cal State East Bay. Macabuhay scored 26 points in the victory, topping her previous best of 25 from Nov. 15, 2019.

A former WNBA coach, Olympic team scout and assistant for the legendary Pat Summitt at the University of Tennessee,
Heidi VanDerveer enters her eighth season as the UC San Diego head coach in 2019-20. VanDerveer was named the CCAA Coach of the Year for the fourth-consecutive season in 2018-19 as well as the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) West Region Coach of the Year for the second-straight year.

The Tritons will return to action at 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 16, hosting Cal Poly Pomona on Spirit Night. Food and t-shirts will be available for students at the Spirit Night Tailgate from 6-8 p.m. (while supplies last).

BIG WEST BOUND
UC San Diego is in its 20th and final year playing as an NCAA Division II team. In July of 2020, the entire athletics program will begin a four-year transition to NCAA Division I, culminating in full DI status as a member of the
Big West Conference for the 2024-25 academic year. At that time, all sports will be eligible for conference and NCAA postseason play.
