ATHLETIC COMMUNICATIONS
The purpose of the Athletic Communications office is to facilitate communication between the athletic department and its external constituents, increase the awareness of and interest in UC San Diego Athletics and to publicize the activities and accomplishments of scholar-athletes, teams and department as a whole.
The UC San Diego Athletic Communications staff works closely with scholar-athletes and coaches to service requests from media members. The office provides the latest releases, notes and statistics to the media. All information can be found online at UCSDtritons.com.
The following is general information for members of the media. Policies may vary from sport to sport.
Interviews
Player and coach interviews must be scheduled through the Athletic Communications office. Interview requests must be made 24 hours in advance whenever possible. Telephone interviews must be arranged through the Athletic Communications office.
Media Services
A weekly release will be issued via e-mail and will be available at UCSDtritons.com. Notes, season statistics, rosters, and game programs will be provided to working media prior to each home competition.
Live statistics are available for baseball, basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball contests. Official statistics will be made available upon completion of the game/match. Coaches and select scholar-athletes will be available for working media members after the competition for interviews and quotes.
Internet Access
Complimentary Wireless Internet is available at most UC San Diego Athletics venues by simply connecting to the UCSD-GUEST network.
Tritons on the Internet
The weekly release, most up-to-date news, statistics and information is available 24 hours a day on UC San Diego's official athletics Web site: www.ucsdtritons.com. To receive the weekly release and post-event recaps via email please contact the Athletic Communications office.
Credential Requests
Requests for press, broadcast and photo credentials for home events should be made to each sport's SID. Please refer to the specific sport to be informed of its requirements and procedures. Credential requests should be made at least 24 hours prior to game time.

Parking
Parking permits are required seven days per week on the UC San Diego campus. Complimentary parking for media members can be requested by contacting a member of the Athletics Communications staff at least 24 hours prior to the start of the event being covered. Credentialed media with approved parking requests will receive a parking code valid for use at kiosks in select garages and lots on campus.
Photography
Credentials will be issued only to accredited photographers and TV reporters/camera operators on assignment from their media outlet. Photographers can obtain rosters and information regarding where they can shoot during the event from the Athletic Communications staff on site.
