LA JOLLA, Calif. — In Tuesday's home opener for the 18th-ranked UC San Diego men's volleyball team, the Tritons fell in straight sets to No. 16 Princeton.
Scores from LionTree Arena were 25-18, 25-21, and 25-21.
UC San Diego moved to 2-4 on the season, while the Tigers are now 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ Â
The Tritons hit just .164 (23-13-61), their lowest attack percentage in 2024. Princeton finished at .303 (38-15-76).
UC San Diego held an 8-1 lead in blocks.
Peter Selcho had five stuffs (one solo), while
Josh Schellinger totaled three (one solo) and
Anthony Cherfan and
Jim Garrison had two apiece.
Cherfan contributed a team-high seven kills to lead the Tritons' offense. Garrison and
Sebastian Lara each had five. Defensively,
Evan Boyle had a match-high six digs.
For the Tigers, Ben Harrington and Nyherowo Owmeni combined for 25 kills with 13 and 12, respectively. Owen Mellon put down five service aces. Owmeni and Harrington both had three.
