LA JOLLA, Calif. – In the two teams' first-ever meeting, No. 18 UC San Diego men's volleyball swept cross-county opponent Saint Katherine Wednesday night at LionTree Arena.
Set scores were 25-16, 25-15, and 25-14.
The Tritons improved to 8-10. SKU, a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) program that competes in the Cal Pac Conference, fell to 5-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego put together a .469 (35-5-64) attack percentage.
A 7-1 advantage in blocks helped the Tritons keep Saint Katherine to just an .064 (26-21-76) attack.
Individually, UC San Diego got a match-high nine kills as well as a .571 attack from Sam Warren, who had just a single error in 14 swings.
Leo Pravednikov and Brett Pursley each notched six kills, while Leo Wiemelt had five. Wiemelt hit .571 and Pravednikov came in at .462. Wiemelt was solid on defense as well, totaling five blocks (one solo).
Splitting setting duties, Cameron Wurl and Andrew Boyle had 17 and 12 assists, respectively.
Ian Meeks had a team-high seven kills for Saint Katherine.
The Tritons were on it in the first set, hitting .688 with 12 kills and one error in 16 attack attempts. They hit .444 (9-1-18) in set two and .367 (14-3-30) in the third.
