Tritons Excel at Pacific Coast Doubles Championship

LA JOLLA, Calif. — The UC San Diego men's tennis team competed in individual doubles teams over the weekend at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championship and made several strong runs in the single-elimination tournament. In total, the Tritons' five doubles teams combined for seven wins in the main draw and two in the consolation draw.

PAIRINGS RESULTS
Rodriguez and Pellouchoud were joined by Lee and Tinoco in making the round of 16. The two Triton teams faced each other in that round, with Rodriguez and Pellouchoud the victors. They moved on to the quarterfinals, where they fell to two ATP Tour players who were the top overall seed in the tournament.

Before the all-Triton battle, Rodriguez and Pellouchoud beat teams from Georgetown and USC. Lee and Tinoco knocked off teams from Occidental and Rice.

All of the Triton teams started the competition in the round of 64, except for Teh and Gonzalez. They started in the round of 128 and beat duos from Villanova and Cal Poly before bowing out of the competition in the round of 32 after a loss to a USC team.

Freedman and Adamson lost their first main draw match, as did Krantz and Qian. Both teams later won a consolation match, with Freedman and Adamson facing off with Cal Poly and Krantz and Qian battling Pomona-Pitzer.
