IRVINE, Calif. - The 10th-ranked UC San Diego Men's Volleyball Team was defeated in straight sets at No. 4 UC Irvine Saturday night.
Set scores of the Big West match at the Bren Events Center in Orange County went 27-25, 25-21, and 25-16.
The Tritons move to 17-7 overall and 3-3 in the Big West. The Anteaters improve to 16-6 and 2-4.
The two teams are even in the regular season series as UC San Diego topped UC Irvine 3-1 Friday in La Jolla Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Both teams were solid on offense. UC Irvine hit .459 (46-7-85) while UC San Diego hit .373 (40-12-75).
Anthony Cherfan had 12 kills and Leo Pravedikov had seven for the Tritons. Cherfan hit .381 with the12 kills and just four errors in 21 swings.
For the Anteaters, Hilir Henno posted a match-high 15 kills. Nolan Flexen had 13 kills.

UC San Diego takes on Big West opponent CSUN next week. The first of two matches will be in Northridge on Thursday, April 10 at 6 p.m. The action moves to La Jolla and LionTree Arena on Saturday, April 12. That clash is slated for a 7 p.m. first serve.
