LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego women's soccer head coach
Kristin Jones announced her side's 2025 competition schedule Thursday. The Tritons' challenging slate features 19 regular season matches across three states, including a pair of contests against 2024 NCAA tournament teams as well as a full docket of 10 matches against opponents from The Big West.
UC San Diego will play ten regular season home matches at
Triton Soccer Stadium in La Jolla.
"I am excited about this season's schedule," said Jones, entering her seventh season as the program's head coach. "Our non-conference schedule will challenge us with some tough opponents – but that will prepare us for what lies ahead in Big West play."
After facing Grand Canyon (Aug. 2) in the programs' annual exhibition match in Chula Vista, the Tritons officially open the 2025 campaign on Thursday, Aug. 14 at home against Cal – a side which competed in the NCAA tournament last fall – in the first of three home matches to open the season. UC San Diego will host Northern Arizona (Aug. 21) and UNLV (Aug. 24) the following weekend.
Up next, the Tritons hit the road for the first time – though it won't be a long trip – when they travel south to take on San Diego State inside Snapdragon Stadium (Aug. 30). After a quick trip to Pacific (Sept. 1), the Tritons remain on the road for matches at Colorado College (Sept. 4) and Colorado State (Sept. 7).
A pair of home matches wraps up non-conference action, with UC San Diego welcoming two WCC opponents to Triton Soccer Stadium: Washington State (Sept. 11) and San Francisco (Sept. 14).
UC San Diego begins its fifth Big West season on Sept. 18, when the Tritons host Cal State Bakersfield at Triton Soccer Stadium. The Tritons close September with a match at Cal Poly on Sept. 25.
The month of October begins with a home matinee against CSUN (Oct. 5) before the Tritons travel to UC Davis (Oct. 9) and last year's conference regular season champion Hawai'i (Oct. 12) the following week. UC San Diego is home for a pair of matches in the middle of the month, with UC Riverside (Oct. 16) and Cal State Fullerton (Oct. 19) coming to La Jolla.
The regular season's final road trip takes the Tritons to Long Beach State (Oct. 23) and UC Irvine (Oct. 26). The 2025 regular season concludes with defending conference tournament champ UC Santa Barbara at home (Oct. 30).
The six-team Big West Championship begins Nov. 2 with the opening round, concluding with the championship match on Nov. 9. The winner of the Big West Championship will receive an automatic berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Admission to regular season home matches at Triton Soccer Stadium is free, though parking permits are required seven days per week on the UC San Diego campus.
