DURHAM, N.C. — UC San Diego men's soccer will kick off the 2025 season on the road this week with a pair of matches in North Carolina. The Tritons face Furman on Thursday before squaring off with No. 15 Duke on Sunday.
 
Both matches will be at Duke's Koskinen Stadium in Durham, North Carolina, and broadcast on ACC Network Extra. The channel is available through a subscription to ESPN+.

LAST TIME VS. THE BLUE DEVILS (8/25/24) | Box Score
No. 20 Duke took a 2-1 halftime lead after the two teams scored a combined three goals in five minutes during a flurry of first half activity. The Blue Devils extended the lead to 3-1 in the 66th minute before the Tritons pulled one back in the 84th. UC San Diego was unable to find an equalizer as Duke held on for a 3-2 victory. Triton goalkeeper Nolan Premack made nine saves in the match, which was played at Triton Soccer Stadium in La Jolla.
 
CLASSROOM SUCCESS
Two Tritons earned accolades for their hard work both in the classroom and on the pitch in 2024. Senior Jonah Kawamura and redshirt freshman Quinn Sellers were named to the Academic All-District Team as announced by College Sports Communications (CSC). Sellers is back with the Tritons in 2025 for his redshirt sophomore season.
 
THREE TRITONS CAPTURE BIG WEST HONORS IN 2024
Three UC San Diego scholar-athletes were honored by The Big West in 2024 as the conference announced its men's soccer postseason awards. Senior Max Carvalho earned his third Big West nod as he was named to the All-Conference Second Team. Freshmen Kai Oppenheim and Quinn Sellers were named to the All-Freshman Team, and both return for the Tritons in 2025.
 
10 FRESHMEN JOIN THE SQUAD
UC San Diego men's soccer head coach Jon Pascale has announced the addition of ten newcomers who will join the Tritons' roster for the 2025 season: Gavin Allegaert, Adam Dunbar, Masa Fujita, Gary Green, Ian Mai, Liam Murdin, Jack Nishimoto, Sagar Patel, Max Pulvers and Sean Ueda. Murdin is a redshirt freshman transfer from Cal Poly, while the rest of the class are true freshmen and recent high school graduates.
 
HEAD COACH JON PASCALE
Now in his 18th season at the helm of UC San Diego men's soccer, Jon Pascale has an all-time record of 151-100-50 (.502) with the Tritons. Pascale is a three-time California Collegiate Athletic Association Coach of the Year and led the Tritons to four Division II NCAA Championship berths from 2013 to 2019. His record in Division II was 130-61-40 (.649).
