AS A JUNIOR IN 2006: Saw action in 35 games with 12 starts... recorded 14 hits in 42 at-bats... went 2-for-5 as a pinch-hitter... recorded multi-hits in four games... went 2-for-3 with two RBI against Cal Poly Pomona on Feb. 19.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2005: Made three appearances with one start behind the plate... threw out a potential basestealer in his only chance.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 2003: Appeared in 25 games with one start in his first season on the UCSD campus.

HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Homestead HS in Cupertino, Calif. where he was a member of the basketball and baseball team... earned all-district honors in baseball in 2001 and 2002... named all-district in basketball in 2002.

PERSONAL: Born August 8, 1984 in Sunnyvale, Calif.... parents are Stan and Cindy Lou Silverman... has a younger sister, Lizzie... a Communications major in Marshall College.
